Welcome! (New Blog, Same Me)

Once again, welcome to my revived blog covering beer and beyond. I’ll pin this post to set the scene and replace it with any key posts moving forward. When resetting my goals for 2025 ahead of our End of Year Review episode for the podcast, I took some time to self-reflect and take stock of what’s important to me. One goal I set for myself was to try falling back in love with the beery spaces of social media in all its forms after becoming severely jaded over the last few years.

Within the last year, I could comfortably say my Instagram posts – outside of podcast reshares – were few and far between, while my blog posts were nearly non-existent. I was overloaded and burnt out, wanting my voice to be heard but also too shattered most days to do it. I would take notes and photos for different beers, venues, or experiences with the intention to write about it all and sometimes I would even start outlining it, but in the end they sat on the backlog so long that they got stale, with my memories far too faded to do them justice.

I’ve managed to accomplish so many things I’m deeply proud of while also feeling like I’ve lazily lacked the discipline to follow through on others.

With this, I decided to take my rejuvenated motivation and channel it back into this blog (new year, same me, but ever so slightly more functional). In an effort to wipe the slate clean of any previous guilt for not holding myself accountable sooner, and remove any content that doesn’t feel as polished or accurate in reflecting the person I am now, I decided to start fresh with a brand new site. And here you are!

Occasionally I might pepper in older content I wanted to migrate across, but I also have many new and more creative pieces of content I’m looking forward to sharing. Some high-level ideas you can (hopefully) look forward to seeing above and beyond just beer/venue/event reviews or experiences include:

  • Travel suggestions, tips, and tricks
  • Thematic pairings (with hobbies, movies, food/snacks…)
  • General blogging of updates around yearly goals, cool things I’ve found, or photos I’ve taken
  • Sharing stories through the medium of beer

I’m always up for a challenge and open to suggestions around content you’d like to see, so please feel free to submit any requests to me via email at adventuresinhoptimism@gmail.com

While I can’t promise a regular schedule for updating content nor that I won’t have a demotivational spiral come February, I can promise that I will try to keep up with this somewhat consistently throughout the year. I want to make sure that this doesn’t fizzle out and I sincerely hope this helps reignite the spark that helped me to fall in love with the digital beer community and the concept of craft beer as a hobby itself.

Hopefully this high level rundown has at least piqued your curiosity enough to come back again and maybe even find something you like!
